Fuel problems I think

Post by turbonutzz »

Hey im having some issues with my 98 turbocharged gsr. Its bogging out and then dies on me. If i floor the gas pedal it bearly stays alive and then all of a sudden comes back to normal...i notice it especially at low rpms, but it has died on me while driving on the freeway.

Today I started going and it died at the dead spot, started it, died, started it died, then i floored the gas held it and, started it, it stumbled a bit then came back to regular operation.

If anyone has anyidea what to check on or do i would be idebted to you for life. thanks

i have a datalog file of the above event don't know if that helps..

Yes it was tuned about 5 months ago but i rarely drive it. it has about 2500 new miles on it since the rebuild. I has been told this could be a distributor problem or a stuck open injector..do these sound accurate...its a real pain in the ass cuz its so inconsistant. today i tried to get it to happen again and the car ran fine....any ideas?

Intermittent problems usually can be traced to wiring problems. Check the thermostat housing ground...make sure it is clean and tight.

I had a similar problem with my turbo'd ls vtec. Same symptoms turned out to be the ignitor. I would try a friends distributor and see if you get the same problem.
