Temperature correction

Post by rensoyka »

I see that the temp corr template for the 2005 cal is quite a bit different from the rest of the k20a2 cals. Is this by design or tuning and should I switch to this temp profile for my '06? I am currently running a profile similar to the k20a2-jrrh-itr cal.

If you are using a similar temperature correction to the K20A2, keep using that.

I've found that the temperature compensation tables in the k20a2-coldair calibration are really really close for n/a, and only need slight adjustment for boost.

I'm having a hard time finding info on the Temp. Compensation table.

I see that there are pre-set configurations but what about setting up our own.

What factors did u guys use for the tables?

I heard a rumor that the values in the cold air calibration are ones generated from conrad's research on the subject. I could be wrong.

A word of advice. The tables do not help for changes in humidity. In areas like kansas, where it's humid as hell in the summer, and dry as hell when it's cold, the tables may need some additional fuel on the cold side if tuned in the summer. Some folks in canada see that as well.

I would suggest tuning your car with the values from the coldair calibration, then when the seasons change, change the compensation table by a few percentages to bring the a/f back into check. For instance, if you tune when it's 80F outside to 13.2 a/f, then in winter, you find yourself around 13.6 a/f, try adding 4% to the cold side values or similar and see if it corrects the issue. This is what some of the folks on clubrsx do.
