ECU S200 b question

Post by GR8GRIBBS »

I have a 99 Honda Prelude with every bolt on modification you could get (expect turbo).

I know I want to change my ECU and need to know what I'm looking/asking for. When you say Hondata 200b, is that JUST a chip (program) for you current ecu, or is it ECU of choice plus the s200 b program? If it is for my current ECU, will this take care of the Prelude's re-learning program, or will I still need to do OBD II to OBD I conversion and get program to fix this?

Any input, or clarification would be greatly appreicated!!!!

Thanks,

if you don't have boost then you don't need a s200 b, you just need a s200.

s200 is the hondata unit which works with obd1 ECU's because your lude comes with obd2 you need to convert your car back to obd1. The easiest way to do this is to buy the obd2-obd1 ecu from hondata, which plugs into your stock wiring and also the s200 hondata unit.

well I do plan on running boost in the next few months.
I already bought a OBD II to OBD I conversion harness, because I planned to switch to a P72 ECU.
Do you know about how much the 200b would cost with the obd2 to obd1 ecu?

With that being said:
Should I still get the P72 ecu with the 200b?
