s300 noob

Post by championshipwhite93si »

i have an s300 chipped to a p28 and im gonna run it on my h22a swapped 93 prelude. as for the setup, i just have a intake, exhaust, header and clutch/flywheel.. nothing major. i plugged it in the other day and loaded the stock prelude map up and the car idled and ran like total crap. hesistation in lower rpms, extremly low idle ie 200 -300 rpm range.. can anyone point me in the right direction on how to solve these problems, or is it something a tuner is going to have to sort for me?

you probably don't have the same sized injectors that calibraion is for.

345cc are JDM H22 injector sizes. Take the stock prelude map and decrease the entire fuel tables about 15% then start it up. From there, decrease the same fuel tables till the car runs smooth and AFR reads optimal. Wideband is needed for this.

personaly I don't even think that H22a tune that hondata gives is for an H22, I have never been able to get it to run properly on my H22, I got the AFR perfect and it still ran like shit.

I ended up tuning it to the JDM B18 tune and perfecting the AFR on that, it runs a lot smoother.

the H22 calibration ran great on mine after I reduced the fuel trim.

as these others have stated, the h22 is the red headed step child of honda's. both great when they work but a challenge none the less. but, seriously invest in a wideband it will be money well spent. I started with a b18 config myself using the wideband i dailed everything in. Tho in retro speck it did take a few limp runs to get it dailed in. Stick in there you'll get it.
