K20A3 Loss of power after CAI install

Post by Batty »

Is it normal to "feel" a definite loss of power after installing AEM CAI?
There is a big change below 4K, Top end is hard to tell. I know the noise has increased.

Is this to be expected if I also add a 2" mid pipe? I don't want to sacrifice any low end torque....

have you confimed a loss of power on the dyno? You may just have smoothed out the vtec transition.

This is an Si motor, so no transition after 2100.
SInce I have had this as stock for 4 years, then Re-flash for a few weeks, You can definitly feel without Dyno.

I just was looking to see if anyone else reported this, also to ask since i am installing a 2" JP midpipe, will I loose more low end torque, or does the re-flash respond weel to this setup.

Thanks again

butt dynos are very inaccurate and are impossible to calibrate. Ideally you need to put it on the dyno to measure the differences, but you may want to try putting it back the way it was and see if you feel a difference.

I plan on measuring both on the dyno.

There is still no answers to my questions,
Has any one else reported this with a CAI, mostly loss in low to mid range.

If a mid pipe is installed will the engine run lean? Is there any loss, or does the re-flash compensate?

Please any info on these will be helpfull.
