VSS output

Post by kazino42 »

02-04 Kpro ecu, I have a 05' tranny set-up. Used the counter shaft option. Will that change the speed signal output to low frequency. I know there's a VSS output on pin E25. Has anyone tried this. There's a guy that made it work with '05 tranny and stock DC2 cluster with no convertor. But is using a Kpro that is modify for a 05-06 set-up.

No, that will not work. That VSS output is only on automatic ecus. Also there is no wiring present from the ecu to the cluster.

I was reading this on the site:

High frequency type transmission

Found in the 05-06 RSX, TSX and 06-07 Civic Si.
Signal from the speed sensor is at a high frequency.
Speed sensor is at the front of the transmission, from the teeth on 3rd gear.
The signal from the speed sensor goes only to the ECU. The ECU sends a low frequency signal to the gauge cluster.

Does the ecu get modified for the speed output on only 05-06 conversion. I'm trying figure out how someone else got the speedometer to work with an 05' tranny.

The person who got the 05 transmission to run the DC2 cluster used an 05 wiring harness and ECU modified for the 05 transmission. Thus the ECU would output a low frequency signal.

However for that to work the E connector from the vehicle harness must be plugged directly into the ECU, and the A and B connectors go via the adapter harness. If you look at the adapter harness several wires go from the engine A & B connectors to the ECU E connector, so this way of wiring is incorrect. Therefore we do not recommend you do this.
