integra type r fitment

Post by ep3sijdm »

i have a 2000 integra type r p73 obdb ecu.
setup:
dc headers 4-1
jrsc 5.5lbs psi
apexi exhaust
stock internals
aem intake

for me to use hondata. i would have to get a obd1 p72 or p28 ecu with obd2 to obd1 conversion harness.

would i need a obd1 distributor also if i were to go with either of these ecu?

also if i were to use a obd1 p72 or p28 ecu, do i need to get a vtec ecu or will hondata provide the vtec? or what year and model ecu from obd1 will i benefit more for my car?

thanks

You do not need to change the distributor. It is recommended to use a VTEC ecu, but with the new s300 solftware any ecu can operate vtec, but more custom wiring is involved for this to work.

tuning

Post by ep3sijdm »

if i were go to with hondata s300 plus PLX wideband 02 sensor, will i be able to decently tune my car myself? will that complete my own tuning?

does hondata s300 come with a base map for my stock jrsc car?

That should be all you need, but it really all depends on your abilities. There are calibrations built into the software...you can download the software and take a look.
