GM Map Sensor Calibrations

Post by civicgsr2000 »

Ok... I have a GM map sensor installed, using the motec calibrations, but on the display showing map, it shows 4-5psi at idle, that doesn't seem right because my boost guage shows vacum. I got a t3/t4 setup, and I know boost shouldn't be showing up. do I have a calibration issue?

Sounds like you have wired the sensor incorrectly, or have the wrong sensor. We do not recommend the GM sensor as there are at least 3 different versions. Once a map sensor has been wired incorrectly it is damaged.

gm sensor

Post by civicgsr2000 »

I have a part number 1222381, I do recall mis wiring so I know now that the sensor is dead, but not completely because I was able to at least drive around. How many people do actually use these gm sensor, how many have complications, and how many do not. should I try using a working map sensor, the dealership is right down the street. will the motec map have the same connector as the gm map?
