What would be a great start?

Post by remmy »

Hi guys. Im an admin over at hondacivicforum.com. I have a 99 Si thats boosted and built. The motor runs on Wiseco turbo pistons with IB spec H-beam rods. It is bored out to 1.7 liters. The bottom end is a B16a. The head is the stock b16a2. Im not sure if it helps but I figured I would list it incase.

Im running the Apexi Power FC unit and to be frank, Im dissapointed with it. Im using 10 psi daily and want to go up to 15 but the Apexi doesnt recognise anything over 10 pounds. The idea of the over build is for dependability but with this build, it can handle 15 without a problem. You can see my predicament.

I would ask my forum but I figured I would go to the horses mouth on this one. What system should I run Hondata wise? What ECU and software/hardware should I utilize?

If there are any questions to be answered to help you help me, let me know.

Thank you very much for your time!

p.s. My forum gives utmost props to you guys and sends as many people we can as possible. Ive never had the use for Hondata until now. Thus, I am now here.

To use a Hondata system, you will need to use a compatible OBD1 ecu from the list at http://www.hondata.com/ecus.html You can then use the Hondata s100, s200 or s300 depending on what options you want. I would recommend the s300.

Thanks! But the url list doesnt work. I also need to score a new wiring harness too. The orignal one was butchered by the clown who installed it.

Edit. I found the list however it mentions nothing of 96-00 Civics.

Edit 2. Nevermind I found it by using the engine search. However, it lists a bunch of ecus... how would I know to select the right one?
