car is jerking

Post by EGHATCH »

I used the k20a-itr.kal from the 1.2.2.1 for my JDM k20a type r.
i just raised the vtec LB from 3800 to 5500 and changed both the kPa to 80. for some weird reason. car is jerking sometimes in 3t rpm, 2trpm, 5trpm. but when i remove the VTC (iVtec), car is running smoothly. could the problem be the vtec? what kPa is normally used?

Can i change the value of vtec in parameters -> Vtec to mbar?

1.2.2.1 shows kPa.

If your problem disappears when your uncheck the VTC box, then your problem is there. The parameters above that are for VTEC only, completely different system. I would enable OBDII and see if you get an error code for VTC.

i tried that. i get an error for vtec oil pressure switch whever i enable it. so i just disabled that in the parameters ->vtec

what values of vtec do you usually put. in the load and rpm points.

Personally, I'd get the problem with the oil pressure switch fixed rather than disabling it. The parameters for VTEC rpm and load are usually determined by dyno tuning or some other method to find the best crossover point. I would stick close to the values in the calibration that you are using unless you want to play with it a bit. It's normally not recommended to set the high point above 6000 or the low point below 3000 for N/A.

yeah, i used 5500 for both upper and lower boundary, both set at 80kPa. will that be fine?

i enabled vtec oil pressure switch,... and i got this CEL. what could be the reason for this CEL?

The JDM K20A does not have a vtec oil pressure switch. You will have to disable it.

that is for the DC5/EP3 multiplexer, disable that as well since it doesn't apply to you (in the Misc Parameters tab)

ok. thanks. now its running with no cels. but car is still jerking at 3trpm in the 6/7 column.

afr reads 18 19 20. almost like as if there is no fuel at that specific area. are the basemaps corrupted or something? any reported bugs on the latest version of kpro?

There are no known bugs. Provide a datalog and calibration.

started to play around with the cal. nothing seems to work changed vtec rpm to 5500 to 7000 seem to smoothed it out. currently i run the civic type R tuned map seems to work better. i hope this helps.
