Problem with s300 / check engine ligts up constantly

Post by Rudoolf »

Hi,
My car is CRX90' with B16A and ECU convertion from OBD-0 to OBD-1 (p28). I heve bought a p28 with s300 instaled. Just after pluging in I saw that when ignition is ON the check engine light is not swiching off but there is no error codes so it looks like ecu is down.
Leds on Hondata are lightning so there is power but I can't datalog, download or upload any maps to the ECU. SManager with ignition ON says Online so there is conection betwen ECU and laptop. I was afraid that maybe ECU is dameged and I've changed this bought one with my first P28 and result is the same. When I remove hondata and replace it with eprom which I was using before everything goes well, engine starts with no errors so I think it's not soldering problem and really it's strange that happen on both ECUs.

Thanks for any help or advice.

p.s.: sorry for my english...

Since this could be a socketing problem, you can send it to hondata for dianostics and possible repair. There is a minimum charge of $75 for this. You must fill out the ecu socketing forma nd obtain an RMA number for this.

I am still in touch with ECU Performance Hondata Dealer in Poland as I know this man quite well and also this guy made ecu convertion for me. Soon I'm going to show him this stuff. Hopefully he is able to fixit or it must be send to main Hondata dealer or service shop??

BTW: If that is so and it is socketing problem than why this problem comes with both p28's which I have. One was socketed in US by some Hndata dealer and sold to me as a used one and second was socketed in some company from pgmfi.org (+ jumpers and resistor were done by myself) and it's OK but not with s300. Is this possible to chceck some how what is wrong and where is the problem. Obviously I can send it back to US for repairing if it is a must.
Thanks.

...where I can find "socketing forma"??

Without seeing the ecu it is impossible to diagnose it.
