s200 lights up

Post by basag »

i have an s200 w/ all options. i can use it with no probs but it lights up.

the dealer here says that there's nothing wrong with it except for the light. and it should be sent back to hondata to repair it.

anyway, i sent my module with my friend who lives in norcal. Im not really sure which dealer the unit cam from as this was a hand me down.

my question now is, do i send it directly to hondata? or should i course it thru one of the dealers?

It sounds like there is no problem with your s200.

The S200 module has an LED. It works by turning on when you put the igninition in the ON position. (Solid red light.)

When there is a problem with your ROM, The LED flashes intermittently when you put the ignition in the ON position.

Sometimes due to old age the LED goes dead but there is no problem with the ROM.

Other than the lights what else are the problems you are experiencing.

Your S200 has a serial number underneath the interface box. If you can post it then we may be able to find the dealer who sold it to you. You can send it back to him if you need repairs.

When the s200 is workign properly and has a correct ROM image the light will be solid on the interface box. I see no need to send it in to Hondata.

oooops my bad.....

i was trying to say that the check engine light comes on. we have disabled all sensors and still CEL appears...

we tried a different s200 module, using the same chipped box, with the same settings, on the same car, and there is no CEL with the other s200 module...

so we suspect that the module is somehow defective....

Quicksilver.... this is bong m. i beleive this module was sent to you by a common friend of ours around mid of this year and your diagnosis was to send the module back to hondata for a reflash or something.... i was a little hesitant to send it thru you because the kit was not purchased from you here in the Phil.....

Have you tried the reset procedure from the User's Guide?

"The rpm points are initially set to the following: Launch limiter 3000 rpm (stage 3 & 4) Cam change point 4800 rpm Shift limiter 6000 rpm (stage 3 & 4) Shift light 7800 rpm Rev limiter 8500 rpm Pressing and holding the button for several seconds while switching the ignition on will reset all the rpm points to the Hondata defaults. Do this the first time the system is installed into the car."

what if your already tuned?? ive been on the dyno and payed for my time but I experience the CEL problem too?? Could it be in the version that was used?? (possibly a glitch)

I was considering going back to have him reburn my tune with a newer version? Would this get rid of any glitches that "could have been"

I think it was the version being that there were no codes behind the CEL throwing.

How are you checking your codes? You really need to check them via Hondalogger by datalogging.
