expanding timing tables for higher boost levels

Post by Jan Niemi »

I have a question about expanding timing tables for higher boost.

My old setup was stock ITR with stock B18C5 with 440cc injectors and the boost tables stop at 12 Psig. (turbo)

My new setup is B18C1 with forged internals with my original ITR head with 750cc injectors and will probably run up to 20 Psig boost maybe higher. I have the highest column at 26 Psig.

I know how to expand the tables, and that timing has to be tuned on the dyno, however what base timing values do you start with in those areas?

I have those areas highlighted in the photo I've attached:

Go to Edit and click on create boost tables. Start conservative and you will then need to tune this on the dyno. I would not boost that high until you are at the dyno and can tune under controlled conditions.
