? about S300 base maps

Post by CivicVTi »

Why do they look different than the Rom Editor maps (eg the P30 JDM has different tables). I also noticed that most tables have too much ignition advance (above 30 degrees at 7000rpm last column for example). I have a B18c5 swap in my civic and I will use the 2001ITR as a base but ignition values (31+ at 6500rpm) scares me.

There was a problem with the ignition tables in the base maps - fixed for the next release.

For maximum power a little over 30 degrees timing is normal for a normally aspirated engine. Timing decreases a little with compression so a high compression normally aspirated engine will be a little lower than 30 degrees for maximum power.

well..

ive heard that 28.75 column 10 is too much timing, 12.5 CR GSR, on 93 gas, so now im running 20.75 deg column 10.. sound about right? base timing is around 14deg at idle..

any inputs?

The only way to tune ignition timing is on the dyno. Tune for max power and make sure there is no detonation then back the timing of a degree or two from there.
