KPRO - Engine Management Light

Post by mlance »

Hi,

I've had KPRO on my Euro Civic Type R for 3 days now. Today the engine management light has come on and stayed on and the car won't rev past 4000rpm. I've tried connecting the the laptop to the KPRO but wasnt sure what to look for once it was connected. Please help!

Thanks.

The quick guide to reading error codes:

1. Download (from hondata.com) KManager and install.
2. Plug in the laptop to the ECU.
3. If it asks for drivers, direct it to the Program Files\KManager directory.
4. Start KManager. Check that on the lower left it says 'On Line'.
5. Switch the ignition on. Check it now says 'Ignition On' at the lower left.
6. Press F10 to start datalogging.
7. If the Error codes window is not open, use the Window menu to open this window.
8. Read error codes. Consult manual for troubleshooting.

Thanks for the info, I gave it a go, tried to connect the laptop and K-Manager for the error codes and it said 'online' but the 'ignition on' sign kept flickering on and off and the datalogging didn't seem to work.

Any ideas? All my fluid/oil levels are fine, as I said the KPRO was working fine for 3 days since installation but suddenly the light is on. I'm new to this game so will take it back to the tuner tomorrow to see what's up.

Where did you purchase the K-Pro and who installed it in the ecu?

It was done at TDI North in England, a very reputable supplier. I am taking it back there for a look tomorrow. I have their 'loan' ECU at the moment as mine is being modified with the daughterboard. Hopefully he will sort it out, from what I have read it could be low battery.

Thanks.
