This problem has happened once and never returned after.
Today I did a datalog with the new kmanager update. I was warned that i had an older calibration and to update it before proceeding with the datalog. I ignored it and did my datalogging.
Later in the day I start the car after filling up with gas and my car now idles at 2000rpm. I shut it off and restart it. It then idles at 2000rpm again. This time I blip the gas, it drops to my set idle 900 then surges to 2000. Now it dips back and forth from 900 to 2000. It does this continually for seconds so shut it off and restart again. Same thing happens. The third time I finally start to drive because of my embarrassment and stopped at a nearby parking lot. The idle irracticness finnaly stopped. It did return a few hours later when I started it up again on my way home but eliminated it by starting to drive again.
When I had the chance, I re-uploaded the same calibration but saved in the new kmanager with no changes. When I started it up everything worked normal until I started to drive a way. The dipping from 900 to 2000 came back and again was only eliminated by driving.
I'm pretty sure my IAC valve it toast. I did remove it to clean it month ago but not completly since I didn't have the star bit to unscrew it. Although I did manage to clean whatever i could (wasn't really that bad to start with).
I have had the surging idle issues for a while so I knew something was up with the IAC but not to this extent. It especially isn't good for the car to rev so high on a cold winter morning. Can anyone give me recommendations on what I should do next?
