We have burned the chip over and over again.... after 30 - 40 minutes of driving the cars goes limp and i get a check engine light.. throws code 1..oxygen sensor. we are running it open loop.. why am i getting o2? we are using romeditor v3.?.5 i beleive.. i've spent a couple thousend on the car and i get a cel? please help..
i am running a 1992 honda civic cx with a ls/vtec. yes it does have an oxygen sensor, but when you run it open loop it shouldnt be read.. thus me not getting a code 1..
The error code is probably from the o2 sensor heater. If the o2 sensor heater is broken (which happens fairly easily from vibration), then place a 1k resistor across the o2 sensor heater wires.
I'm having the same problem with mine. At first it was just code 1 which is weak oxygen sensor, so I switched out the o2 sensor with another one I had, then when I did that it threw a code 41 which is heat oxygen sensor. So then I replaced it with another one after that and it got rid of the check engine light for a while but then the code 1 came back a couple of days later, and then we pulled the chip and reburned it with the open loop and told it to ignore the heat oxygen sensor. But then I am still getting a code 1 after driving around for a while.
im sorry but my shop cant figure out the resistor trick.. can you please give me some instructions and maybe a simple drawing for a visual example. i really want my car to run good. i would appreciate the help! thanks in advanced
It shows how to wire in the resistor. Make sure that you have saved the bin file using the latest version of software before trying to burn the file to an EEPROM.
Do you guys have any suggestions of what I should do about mine? I've switch my o2 sensor out with like 3 different ones and it will still throw a code 1. But I don't understand if we are running it in open loop and told it to ignore the o2 heater. Thanks.
I'll have to get with my tuner to get that for you, I currently don't have a laptop. But I'll try and get that for you as soon as possible because two of my other friends are having the same problem with their s200's and we have all been tuned by the same guy. But I still don't understand why the check engine light would even come on if we are running it in open loop and have it ingnoring the o2 heater? Thanks
From what you just said it sound like your tuner is not using the newest version of romeditor, and if they are, they are not converting the file. YOu need to go back to your tuner and hav ehtem contact us to make sure it is being converted correctly.
