I have been following the K20A engine swop wiring diagram but get stuck at the alternator charge lamp.
On my harness ( European Civic Type R ) there is no connection on pin 8 of the Engine harness. There are 4 wires from the alternator - one is +12V and the other 3 go to the ECU plug B - White/blue, White/Green and white/red.
I guess the white/blue is the wire I'm looking for ?
Thanks

Don't know if this is too late...i wired a K20A2 in a MK2 CRX earlier this year, i took notes but would have to dig them out - the Euro wiring is a little different to the US flavour most of the stuff on the web has.
White/Blue is correct and should normally go to pin B10, what car/instrument cluster do you have?

Thanks Mark - its not too late I've got a lot to do ..
The engine is going in a Lotus Exige .. the instrument cluster is an SPA system and the charge lamp is wired as "normal" meaning the alternator earths it when not charging.
According to the Hondata information the "L" connection is on the Engine harness pin 8 not the ECU B connector -
Mine is on the B connector so I guess I just pick up from that ? -

It goes to the ECU "B" connector pin B10 - so into the ECU .. - see diagram below which is exact how my loom isHondata wrote:As you have found, there is a difference between the JDM/US and Euro harness. The wire is wht/blue. Where does this go on the Euro harness?
The alternator has 4 wires ( plus battery connection )

I understand the ECU can alter the charge characteristic, but I'm just wanting to use the alternator charge lamp - I guess the ECU or alternator isnt too worried about that ?

However this is from the US service manual .. so now i'm confused !!
AltF - alternator field, measures the amount of current the alternator is providing.
AltC - alternator control, used by the ECU to control the output voltage.
AltL - alternator charge light, used by the ECU to send the multiplex signal to the dash that the alternator is not charging.
On the JDM & US harness AltL is wired both to B10 and to C101 pin 8. I suggest you trace B10 and see if it is wired to a different pin in C101. If not, you'll need to tap into B10 for your dash light.
