Full Throttle Shift

Post by Khuna »

How do you get Full Throttle shift to work? If I want to designate my AC button to activate FTS, how do I proceed? Do I have to run wires to the ECU?

What if I want to designate the same AC button for launch control as well? Will that button work for both functions at the same time?

You normally would wire a clutch switch into the ECU AC switch input for both launch control and full throttle shift.

You must wire the clutch switch to the input you wish to use. You can use the same input for both full throttle shift and launch control. Using the AC input for them will mean that you can no longer control AC with that input.

Where's the clutch switch? If I do what you guys say, to activate it all I have to do is push the AC button to activate it right?

No

The clutch switch is on the clutch pedal assembly. You must connect the clutch switch to the ac input on the ecu. You will no longer be able to use the AC button in your car.

Do I do anything with the wiring on the AC button then? I'm not too worried about AC becuase I don't have AC. Is it just one wire for the clutch switch?

Riddle me this, assuming I am understanding this correctly, why in the world would you want to push in the A/C button before every shift?

I may be misunderstanding your question though, if so, ignore my idiotic question and proceed with yours.

I thought that you hook it up to the A/C switch so that when you want to activate the FTS feature, you press it. So, you're not driving all day with FTS on...

That's what I thought.

Why would it be a problem to leave the FTS on at all times? It won't matter unless you push in the clutch and try to rev the car to the rev limiter.

With FTS always on, your FTS RPM becomes your new redline

And to clear up the whole input thing... Basically, all the options in the drop down menu are ones that you can use that are already connected to the ECU. You simply have to cut the other end and re-wire to the clutch switch... For example, my car is non-VTEC, so I use D6 VTP as my FTS activation input and I have wired it to my clutch switch located on the pedal assembly...
