Is it just datalogging or Smanager as well ?..Typically if you get booted out of Smanager or Datalogging freezes.. There's electrical interference in your ignition system ..

You need to make sure you have a USB 2.0 or better to keep up with the data transfer rate. I had the same problem with my Dell. I added a PCMCIA card with a better USB port on it and haven't had any problems since.

How old is the computer? Check the driver date on your USB controller. its under the Device manager.

Delete all of the on-board saved datalog files and disable on-board datalogging until you know you'll need it. This was the main cause of the datalogging freaking out while we were on the dyno.

Use ferrite beads on the USB cable to help with signal retention.

diddo on what ben said, if even got near full throttle while using a laptop the smanager started freakin out sayin my rpm was 36,435 and shit like that.

It came down to on board data logging switching on that made everything go crazy.

disable your on board data logging and try it again.

In my racecar the problem was caused by the wiring. Grounds were not working well so I had to scrape the paint and ensure all grounds were secure. Made sure engine ground was ok. Everything is fine since.
