Red light stays on and no parameters.

Post by TGrant »

I just got my ECU chipped at Slowmotion Motorsports and when I got home I installed the ECU in my car. The stock P28 calibration loaded perfectly, but before starting my car I noticed that I wasnt getting any real time parameters like TPS. I decided to start the car anyway and it started fine and idled fine at 12.5:1. I still wasnt getting any parameters and I noticed that I had a solid red light in the ECU. Ive searched but havent really found any info. Any ideas would be very helpful. Thanks in advance.

If you can upload but not datalog then it is the ECU socketing. If you have a check engine light and 3500 rpm limit then it is the main socket or latch chip. If you can rev over 4000 rpm then check that J12 has been cut / removed. See http://www.hondata.com/s300socketing.html.

I did go through all of the steps to make sure the shop did everything correctly and I do remeber seeing that j12 has been removed. I didnt ever bring the car out of idle but I will check the rev limit in the morning. Thank you for your help.

Does this apply to the s300j as well?

Look in the SManager help under 's300 socketing'. For the JDM ECU remove J4.
