Vehicle speed indicated wrong

Post by milano_chris »

When I'm logging the speed is all wrong. I have selected the gear ratios for JDM Integra, but the gear indicator is wrong too.

When in 1st and 2nd, KManager thinks 1st, when in 3rd and 4th, KManager thinks it's 2nd, when in 5th it's 3rd and 6th is 4th.

I've also checked the ratios in KManager and compared them to the actual ratios and they are correct.

Could it be the speed converter on the car (it's a Jap import converted for the UK)?

I'm out of ideas :?

The ECU needs to see the unmodified speed signal from the ECU - where is the speed converted wired?

From the gear box as far as I know. I didn't import the vehicle, it was already registered in the country and made legal here by the previous owner.

Either relocate the speed sensor converter past the point where the ECU gets the signal from the speed sensor or add a new wire from the ECU to the speed sensor.
