I was messing with the air temp timing retard feature today and have a problem or question.
I setup my columns 120, 140, 161, 171, 199. I zeroed all of the columns. Car drives fine. I put -2.00 degrees in at 140deg and left all of the rest at zero. The car pulls so much timing at 35-100% throttle that timing goes to -4 degrees and you can hear the exhaust get obnoxiously loud. I see it pulling this timing by looking at the display when I hit the gas. If I zero the timing out car goes back to running fine.
I will try and get a datalog tonight. I am tuning a simple D16Z6 that is waiting for a turbo. Just wanted to test this feature.
My air temps run around 100-130 on a hot day.
I am assuming the program interpolates between temperature ranges in the boxes.
Buggy Air temp timing retard feature?
Do not change the first temperature value from the default value. eg use -40, 120, 140, 170, 200 I'll change SManager to prevent this for the next release. Interpolation is used, so if your ignition changes with temperature are linear you don't need that many values.
