Push button install question

Post by mikeedge »

I am currently tuned on Hondata S200. I am looking into installing my push button so I can control my rev limit, launch control, and shift light.

I have read on the Hondata installation guide that once installed... the rpm points are initially set to the following...

Launch Limiter: 3000rpm
Cam Change point: 4800rpm
Shift limiter: 6000rpm
Shift light: 7800rpm

Now my question is... my vtec crossover is set right now to 4400rpms. Once I install this, is it going to switch it to 4800rpm? and am I going to have to reset it back to 4400rpm?

Thanks for any help.

If VTEC has been set in the ecu it cannot be adjusted via the interface box.

Okay, so I don't have to worry about my crossover going to 4,800rpm?

Okay, I plugged the push button in and set my launch control rpms to 2,500 statically. I turn my car on and press the clutch in and when I step on the gas pedal, the launch control doesnt work, my rpms just rocket.

Any ideas why?

Datalog and make sure that the ecu is seeing the clutch switch engaging and disengaging.

Lol, I found out that I need the clutch switch. I was under the impression that I only needed the clutch switch for Full throttle shift.

Where should I get the clutch switch from? I have access to pepboys, advance autoparts, etc.

What are they called exactly?

Okay, I went out to pepboys and bought a switch. Now my question is, How do I go about hooking it up to the Hondata?? It didn't come with any wires or anything.

Lol, I looked through that manual so many times. It just does not say how to hooke up the clutch switch to the hondata.

I am fully aware of where to put the clutch switch, but just not how to hook it to the hondata.

It plugs in on the interface box where it says "Clutch Switch"

Lol, I am aware of that. But I do not have any wires that plug into that. The clutch switch I bought came with just a clutch switch. Here are some pics of it...

Every s200 is shipped with the necessary cable to connect to the switch.

Hmm, well I bought this from a member off Team-Integra so that could explain why I do not have the cable. I did have th push button tho.

How could I acquire one of these cables?!

Ps. Thanks a lot for all your help! I appreciate it.

You can purchase a replacement through any Hondata dealer.
