i did the same, as my laptop has not internet connection. the first time i DL'ed it, it told me the file was corrupt and wouldn't even install. the second time, it would install, but it wouldn't open. it kept telling me it experienced an error and was going to shut down.smracing wrote:I had the same problem yesterday. I went to the Main website and downloaded from there instead of running through the S300 program.
with the link above i still get the error:
"SManager.exe has generated errors and will be closed by Windows. You will need to restart the program.
An error log is being created."
i think i'll just stick with V1-1-4. i have no probs with it. :)
**edit. yes. i installed, uninstalled, re-installed, etc. version 1-1-4 and below work fine. i just can't make 1-1-6 work. as long as i have ONE version, i'm cool. maybe i'll try the next one that comes out
so. version 6 works fine on my desktop, not my lap top. my lap top is old and running windows 2000 but has never given me a problem. is there anything else i need to update?
my purchase of the gear-based option depends on if i can get this loaded or not.
last time i installed version 6 it reset all my boost/rev limit/sensor display/etc settings. i'm afraid to try again.
maybe if i COMPLETELY ditch the hondata info off my laptop and start all over?
p.s. where is this "help" file i keep seeing where we can check for updates? is that in the editor program or here on the site?

up to you guys. i've never had a warning message come up when installing the software. maybe back when i first did it, but that was over a year ago and i don't remember. it's never come up during any updates i've ever installed, either. back when i looked up requirements, all i found, while looking for system requirements was:Hondata wrote:So I guess I need to make the warning message, which appears every time you start the software, flash and beep more then.
"What operating systems does ROM Editor and HondaLogger work with?
Both applications will run on Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows XP, Windows NT and Windows 2000. "
not to mention i got on here and asked around. other members told me 2000 worked for them.
i couldn't find any info on the S300, though i'm sure you guys have it, so i assumed the same requirements were needed. i looked all over the site, but must have missed a link.
either way, i'm looking to find a way to get another laptop that will run XP. i think that will solve a LOT of the problems i've been having.

System requirements
Windows XP, 256 Mb RAM, integrated USB and with internet access.

well i know all that now, but thanks anyway. like i said: i'm sure it was listed on the site and i missed it. probably the one place i DIDN'T click.Hondata wrote:http://www.hondata.com/smanager.html

maybe this will help someone else that missed it as well, assuming they search.
but! now i know the problem. i have a feeling if i run everything on an XP machine that i will be able to solve a few other little problems as well. unfortunately, this also means i have to wait on buying the parts for the gear-based boost :(
