Air, Water temp, Gear Compensations, do they affect timing?

Post by smracing »

Do the changes made to Air and Water temp compensation affect timing like the factory setup does?

I am assuming it is pulling or adding timing based on the percentage in the box.

Does this apply to gear specific compensation as well? Just a general percentage change in the overall map?

Gear comp is the only parameter which effects timing. All others only alter the fueling.

The factory ECU will pull or add timing based on IAT? How can I alter this amount?

When I am tuning a boosted car, IATs should be higher than the stock NA values. The factory ECU wants to add timing when cold or pull timing when hot how can i compensate for that?

You cannot make adjustments to IAT timing correction at this time, but it is something we are looking at adding.

Will be added to the next release. There is about 5 degrees of retard by 170 degrees air temp.
