2005/2006 Base RSX compatibility?
2005/2006 Base RSX compatibility?
I know that the 05+ RSX-S needs the adapter harness but does the 05+ base version still use a PND ECU and is it compatible with K-Pro? Is the harness the same as the 02-04?
Also, can an 02-04 PRB Hondata'd ECU be used in an 05+ base?

The 05+ base uses the same setup as the 05+ Type-S (adapter harness + ECU). Note than any ECU you use has to be modified by us for 05 use otherwise the speedo and VTC will not work.
The only difference we have noticed is that the speedo correction needs to be adjusted because the 05+ speed sensor uses 3rd gear, and the Type-S and base have different 3rd gear and final drive ratios.

Hondata
How much to upgrade?
Well, my RSX-S got hit and plan on selling it after repairs. I don't want my ECU to go to waste and if I go with a new (05-06) RSX-S, how much would this modification cost (without the price of the harness)?
what kind of adjustment?Hondata wrote:The 05+ base uses the same setup as the 05+ Type-S (adapter harness + ECU). Note than any ECU you use has to be modified by us for 05 use otherwise the speedo and VTC will not work.

edit in Gear comp---> select base rsx ratio?
You guage will never read acurately as the countershaft driven speed sensor from a base recieves a different number of pulses than a countershaft driven speed sensor from a Type S. The speedo correction in the parameters can only compensate for different tire sizes on a Type S, and will never acuratley compensate for the different number of triger teeth that a base transmission has.
right now, i'm using a type-s ecu(prb), what can i do to make the speed be acurate?Spunkster wrote:You guage will never read acurately as the countershaft driven speed sensor from a base recieves a different number of pulses than a countershaft driven speed sensor from a Type S. i know once i shift to 3rd gear my speed off is by 10km/h..so ur telling me there is no fix for base rsx using type-s ecu?
