Crank angle CEL

Post by viridion »

S200 with datalogging and boost just installed, when i start the car i get a crank angle sensor code.

with the FMU and stock ECU and injectors i didn't get that code.

i'm using a P28 map, since it's a chipped P28.. my friend used the same map that he used for his car on mine, since the setups are very similar.

we're using 550cc injectors, it's a d16Z6 and setup for 5psi right now, til i'm able to get tuned

also, when we first burn the chip and put it into the ecu and start the car it ran fine, I drove it around a bit, but after the car is turned off and re-started the code comes up and will not go away.

we've changed distributors and checked the wiring, any other ideas?

Are you using an adapter harness? Have you tried the ecu on another car. What happens if you put the stock ecu back in (I know that you said it used to work, but does it still work)?

i figured it out actually, it's the first time i've seen a broken wire in a honda ecu harness, but it throws the code when the ecu is mounted and the wires are twisted, but does not throw the code when the ecu is on the floor of the car, lol.

i've got to hit up a junkyard for a couple of pins and i'm going to rewire the crank angle sensor, should take care of it! :)
