PLEASE consider adding these features

Post by kenton »

I wish I could open two KAL or KDL files at once.

Reason: Imagine having a fuel table on your left (say.. dynotuned.kal) and then a fuel table on your right (say.. dynotuned-small_af_adjustment.kal)

On the right fuel table (the altered map) you would see blue cells instead of a shade of orange indicating this particular cell was changed from the original KAL

Opening two datalogs at once with two different display windows (say red and blue) would also help people analyze data quicker. Say you have a 3rd gear pull of 90F IAT and one 3rd gear pull of 75F IAT, you could easily see what's changed and make small adjustments from there.

People on ClubRSX think this is a great idea and it can't be too hard to impliment.

Sure beats making a screen shot, saving it as a .jpg, opening your altered KAL and seeing what's been changed.

I'm sure it's just a few #defines changes and adding a few lines of code in their window message handlers.

Can we get an official response on this topic?

Sometimes I see whoever posts under the "Hondata" username making smart ass comments. Someone asked about the R18 engine and Hondata replied "Please show us proof of untapped potential in the R18" and someone asked about an Accord ECU and Hondata replied "Sorry, my magic wand is broken."

multiple instances of the software are a bad idea and will most likely not happen as it causes USB problems

I'm not asking for multiple instances of the KManager software.

Infact, open both calibration files in *read only* until I close one, how's that for safety?

I don't see how it's a big deal to not be able to open two calibration files and have one side have blue boxes meaning "Hey, the fuel was changed in this cell, versus your original calibration."

There seems to be several NO-NO things with KMananger, but no one ever seems to explain why. It's like the mother who says "Don't touch the stove" but doesn't explain that it could be hot and burn your hand.
