Newbie question

I have a 1993 Honda Accord (F22 engine) and I would like to be able to use the s200. I was planning on getting a p05 or p06 ecu. If I get a conversion harness and hook this ecu up will it run my car without any modification before I hookup the s200? Does the new ecu have to be chipped before I can use the s200? After looking at the forums I think I only confused myself more.

You cannot run on an unmodified ecu. The ecu will have to be socketed for use with the Hondata system. This can be done by the dealer you purchase the Hondata ssytem from or can be sent directly to Hondata. If sent to Hondata the cost is $75 for standard shipping and $100 for overnight shipping (http://www.hondata.com/ecusocketinginfoform.html). No conversion harness is needed since you already have an OBD1 vehicle.

thanks for the reply... i will most likely have it socketed by hondata, but if i didnt what kind of chip am i supposed to put on it? Would I be burning a new map on it? I thought the hondata would take care of that. Im slowly picking up on this, lol.

BTW...93 accords are obd1? If thats the case then do I still need a different ecu?

You will not be putting a chip in the ecu...it needs to be socketed for use with a Hondata system.

You must use one of the OBD1 ecu from the list at http://www.hondata.com/ecus.html

BTW the Hondata Wizard is wrong.... it shows 1990-1995 Accord LX/EX cars to have an H23 engine. I know at least the 90-93 are F22. And if you look under "By Vehicle" it lists 90-01 Accords with a PT3 ecu.... My 93 accord has a PT6 (just checked).
