Just got tuned now Hondata blinking..

Post by quick_hatch »

I recently got my car tuned. Worked perfect idled and everything. I got home and the car doesn't want to idle or even start unless i hit the gas. I'm throwing a code with no none error and as of now my hondata is light is blinking. I just changed the Interface cable. Any suggestions? Tuner says it couldve been the cable or even the 4 prongs.

It could be that or even a bad socketing job on the ecu. Who socketed the ecu?

i'm not sure who socketed it. i bought it that way. i'm going go try to bring it to a hondata dealer today. i already talked to him and he said if the cable doesn't work hell clean up the ecu and make sure all the connections are good.

okay i just found out my ecu was burnt. I used my friends ecu and my car started right up. Now my problem is sometimes it works and sometimes it doesnt. its like a bad connection. could it be my obdIIa-obdI jumper harness? or something else.

well i swapped jumper harnesses and put on my friends and it worked great for about an hour. It seems as if i have an unstable connection. After i drove for about an hour i had the check engine pop on and off. while the check engine light is on it goes into a running rich mode. I tried swapping interface cables and no luck there. Any suggestions? and the person who socketed my friends ecu was bubba and do it dyno.

Have you tried swapping both the ecu and the jumper harness at the same time?

For the ecu to go into limp mode it has to be one of 3 things...bad interface cable, bad grounds or wiring in the car, or a socketing problem with the ecu.

yeah i swapped both to my friends ecu and his jumper harness and it worked great for about an hour. The hondata light stays on but it just goes in and out of limp mode. I tried swapping interface cables and i dont think there is a bad job on the socketing part. I'm pretty sure its somewhere between the jumper to the engine wiring. Also when the car was running and i stop at a light my rpm stays at about 2k rpm then when i hit the gas it goes back down. I read someone on this forum had this problem but i can't located it. any more ideas on both these problems?

i haven't tried my ecu in his car. MY p28 seems to be burnt as you can see it. My friend isn't currently using his p28 so i'm borrowing it. His ecu was working fine in my car as stated before. i'm still currently using it. After an hour of use Its just now it goes in and out of limp mode.

Please try your stuff in another vehicle to see if the problem trans fers over, then using known goods isolate the problem.
