1000cc injector + wideband question

Post by turbolude97 »

I have the s300 with 1000cc injectors... when I have the injector size set at the stock size the car idles ok, but if i switch it to 1000cc then it goes really lean no matter how much fuel is added. I just discovered that the o2 sensor (wideband) was wired into the stock o2 sensor wire instead of the ELD would this this cause this probem?

I haven't had the opportunity to rewire the o2 sensor but wanted to see if this could be causing the prob.

Running large injectors like that will require you to make other changes to the tables to get the air fuel correct and have the car idle properly. The overall fuel trim is there only as a starting point in using larger injectors. Large injectors have a significant dead time at very low duty cycles and you may actually have to add more fuel below 1500 rpm. There are a few ways to run the Oxygen sensor. It really all depends on if you are wanting to run open or closed loop. I would suggest reading the wiring instructions at http://www.hondata.com/techplxwiring.html

yeah I read that and thats how I figured out that it was wired incorrectly. the main problem is that I don't have my car it's at my tuners and he was having problems with it. He said he did add 100% fuel to the idle and it still didn't change how lean it was running. This is the first time he has tuned an s300, but has tuned numerous s200's. My main question was if the o2 sensor wiring would cause this problem or is it something else I should be looking for?

On a side note I am getting a random MIL but when I look at the codes on the Smanager there is nothing listed any ideas why this happens? It's not from the shift light setting because it comes on at idle.

I have 1000cc inj and a good starting point is to set your overall fuel trim at 36 and in the colums where your car would idle have it around 195 to 220. hope that gets you started
make sure under old inj it is at 240 and 1000 under new inj
