wot auto a/f

why can't the ECU be programmed to auto control the a/f to a preset target at wot like in open loop? the stock wideband 02 can handled it - right?

Safety. Given the number of people we see miss-wiring their o2 sensors, using the wrong o2 sensors etc etc you'd see some overheated pistons before very long. The OEs generally don't do closed loop at high load.

thanks for the info. a safety net would be to read from a tuned table as the current setup and let the ecu make fine adjustments (short and long term)
