Datalog a 0-5 volts signal

Post by Maverik »

Hi,
I have a Civic Type R with a PRA ECU and K-Pro. Closed loop has been disabled and to tune my engine the OEM narrow band O2 sensor has been replaced with a wide band O2 sensor and a ?Tech Edge? unit.

I would like to datalog with K-manager the 0-5 volts output signal coming from the wide band unit. Will I damage the ECU if I connect the 0-5 volts signal to the ECU OEM O2 input (0-1 volts) ?

If that is not possible how could I datalog a 0-5 volts signal with K-manager?

Thanks

You should not connect this, as you will probably damage the ecu. You cannot input any aftermarket wideband signal into the K-Pro and be able to datalog it.

I have an Euro Civic Type-R and have been using AEM UEGO's 0-5V wideband output connected to ECU's SO2 input for about year and a half now without any problems whatsover. SO2 has an input range suitable for 0-5V.

Well, you actually CAN use aftermarket wideband signal and datalog it with K-Pro, at your own risk of course.

There is also a program made by Theta to do the volts->afr conversion for datalog files, tuning afr is much easier with KManager after the 0-5V SO2 voltage is calculated directly to AF values.

I'm very happy about that!

Did you keep the primary O2 sensor for closed loop?

Thanks for the info.

Yes, exactly. Primary O2 sensor is left totally as it is, and the aftermarket wideband just replaces the stock secondary sensor and is connected as described above. Closed loop works just normally.
