K-Pro loses connection when Datalog Recording
HEY I WILL BE INTALLING MY GREDDY KIT BY THE END OF THE MONTH AND IM LOCATED REALLY CLOSE BY... IM WILLING TO LET YOU GUY CHECK OUT MY CAR... :DHondata wrote:The common factor is the Greddy kit. In the past we've found that the kit included non-resistor spark plugs, but it could be that there is something else in the kit which creates a bad ground or inteference. We've asked Greddy for the installation instructions & kit contents, and are looking for a local vehicle with the Greddy turbo kit to look at here.
I have the same problem. The ECU works fine when it first out of the box. Then it just gotten worst and worst. Now as long as the engine is on, it will just shut right off. WHen I turn the engine off then unplug and plug in the USB then it will work again. Then turn the engine on and it will lose connection again.
I have tried the cable fromt he box and a Shielded USB 2.0 cable. They all react the same way now.
When it was out of the box I was using the older version of Kmanage. Anything think that might be the problem?

The ground for the fuel line has been ,oved to the top of the valve cover and the the other ground is on the timing chain cover. The plug is OBX and here is the what they said about their plug. I have no idea if they have resistor or not. I will go buy some cheap stock plug today and try it.
here is the description:

Well I still have this problem. As long as I am not wot it stays connected fine. Everytime I try to datalog, soon as I hit WOT, I lose connection. If I just unplug the usb cable and plug it right back in, it connects and is fine. that is until I hit WOT again. And I am using a newer dell inspiron laptop. This is getting annoying since i can not do a wot datalog to street tune. please help.
My mods are listed earlier in this post as well as my plugs

I appologise for this suggestion being a little basic.
I had a similar problem when my K-pro was first fitted, the laptop would go offline after a few seconds or minuets during a datalog, I never even got the car moving!
I found the problem was with the USB plug going into the ECU, When the glove box was closed the back of it pushed against the plug causing it to loose connection intermittently. I ended up twisting the ECU round and putting it in back to front. Never had a problem since!
Try having the glove box open during a datarun and see if it makes a differance.
Again sorry if this is not relevant.
