Hondata for '06 Civic Si

Post by Alex Soriano »

I was wondering if there is any info on when Hondata will be available for the '06 Civic Si? I imagine the MAF sensor makes it a little tougher to modify. I think a lot of us new Si owners will be interested in getting the Hondata ECU upgrade as soon as it is available.

We'll let you know on the main Hondata page when something is available.

This is not like building a house - it has not been done before, so we can't estimate when we will be finished.

I know that you have stated you do not know the ETA. Is there any way you can inform us on what you have already completed, what you have left, and what are all of the plans for the ECU? We are anxious ;)

Any Idea?

The 2006 ECU is difference from earlier RSX ECUs, and a KPro style programmable solution is not possible.

(Race header / Test pipe. This will eventually give you an engine check light telling you have a faulty catalytic converter. We have not seen this error cause any power loss.....)

So I there a way from keeping the check engine light from coming on with the header?

No. Don't even mention spark plug defowlers or o2 simulators. Run a cat.

is there a problem that we should be aware of running the defowler or simulator?
or is it just a recommendation of the right thing to do?
thanks in advance.

Do not run o2 simulators. We see many ECUs which have been damaged by o2 simulators.

does o2 simulator mean spark plug defowler also?
or is the spark plug defowler ok to run but just stay away from the o2 simulators?

no defowler is diefferent., Though the risk is that if your car is lowered, I have seen the sensor get sheared by the road on other k-series cars...
