Hi,
I have a Euro CTR with N2 cams, DC Sport Header, and K-pro.
The car has been setup on a rolling road, re-mapped and is producing good power. However at low rpm the engine splutters just as the throttle is cracked open. This results in an annoying lag before the car starts to pull cleanly. It is most noticable in first gear from a stand still but is also there in 2nd and 3rd if driving slowly and short shifting.
I am very much an amature so any help with adjustments to the K-pro would be much appreciated.
Thankyou
Alan
Engine splutters at low rpm
The problem I asked about in this post was splutter at low rpm just as the throttle was cracked open, nowere near VTEC. I adjusted the TPS as hondata suggested an that went away.
However after I had my N2 cams fitted and the car re-mapped I found it did something similar to yours on part throttle just on VTEC switch over, Ok WOT. This sounded and fealt similar to a missfire and the car lost power until the revs got up a bit. The lower VTEC point had been re-set to about 3500rpm however I found the problem got better by moving this up to 5250rpm.
N2 cams, DC Sport header, Kpro, Mongoose exhaust, Blitz intake.

Yes when throttle is 50% then car misfire. When car on WOT car ok. :?aam wrote:The problem I asked about in this post was splutter at low rpm just as the throttle was cracked open, nowere near VTEC. I adjusted the TPS as hondata suggested an that went away.

The problem is at 4500 at part throttle on the high cam. Ideally you need to tune this region with a wideband, but here are some thing to try first:
Lower the VTEC lower window pressure from 98 kpa to 90 kpa or so, otherwise VTEC will be delayed at elevation.
Set the TPS ignition retard to -100%
Change the maximum MAP for closed loop to 65-75 kpa as this is giving the injector duration some hystersis at the present 80 kpa setting. It could be that the engine is running a little rich in this area (4500 rpm) or that the VTEC point is too low.
You might want to try raising the VTEC upper pressure from 24 kpa to 60 - 80 kpa to see if that helps the hesitation you see.
