One word: emissions.

The AFM is more accurate, especially at low flow rates, than a speed density sustem with VE maps. As long as the flow is non-turbulent, that is.

i'm not so sure adapting the rsx k-pro will be possible either. or not so simply anyway.

the 06 si also has a new immobi system.

the rsx immobi control unit talks directly to the pcm and the pcm commands the fuel pump.

the new si has whats called imoes and the immobi control unit talks to imoes which inturn talks to the pcm via a com line called the S-NET.

the imoes is what disables the pgmfi main relay 2 (fuel pump relay).

so even if u disable the immobi with the K-pro imoes still wont command the fuel pump.

and theres noway hondata can adapt the S-NET line and functions ot the rsx K-pro.

flash might be the only option for the new SI. but i guess you better let hondata sort all that stuff out.

IF your are able to reflash it, It's because you are able to modified the maps, so why it's not K-Proable?

You're simplifying things far too much.

1. A reflash is just changes made to the ECU data tables. KPro required substantial changes to the ECU program code as well. This part took 3000 hours for the KPro, which is 1-2 years full time work, so best case you wouldn't see anything this year for the Civic anyhow.

2. The 06 Civic ECU used a different processor, which is not reflashable in the same way as the 02-04 Civic/RSX. Any programmable solution for the 06 Civic will not be a KPro.

So, does this imply that you guys are going to try and develop a different method or are going to avoid it completely? I know you guys found a workaround with the k20A2 throttlebody and a cable throttle conversion, so will you be marketing that? Or is something else in the works for all us eager FG2 owners? :D

DBW / no-DBW makes no difference, so I can't see a manual throttle body conversion being necessary. Generally we do not comment on furture developement.
