Rev limit status unexpected On/Off at part-throttle driving

Post by rst3b »

Doing some fuel tuning on the low cam 0 degree table and noticed in the log that the rev limit status indicator keeps going on and off throughout the logs. The rev limit is set at 7600 and this is all part throttle driving, nowhere near the limiter. No protections are configured either. This has occurred in multiple logs so not a 1 time thing.

It seems as if the rev limit status on is tied to the switch from fuel status "closed" to "open - driving" when the accelerator is released and TPS goes to 0.

Seems like its something simple but I can't find it.

Attached a log showing it.

This engine does not appear to be getting to operating temps and is running cold.

Yes, it has an aftermarket radiator and low temp thermostat. It was also a cooler evening when this log was taken.

Why is VTC locked to 0 degrees?

Was starting initial part throttle tuning to get basemap in line to all the mods. Starting with the 0 degree table.

Start with a fresh calibration created form the new Calibration button and see if it does the same thing.

I created a new tune file from scratch and still the same issue. I am attaching two logs, but this is seen in all the logs across open loop and closed loop.

disable lean protection and see if the issue goes away.

The original calibration I posted did not have lean protection enabled and the issue was there. I just enabled it on the last calibration.

Any other thoughts on what it could be?
