Continuous CEL with no code?

Post by Sleepin »

I installed my s200/b on the 28th, took my car to the dyno on the 1rst. While on the dyno the CEL came on, but would not flash a code. Is this a major problem? Has anyone had this?

Also right at the VTEC crossover the car drops dangerously lean, my tuner (Jason @ Tempest Racing) had to adjust the A/F extremely rich to compensate for the lean condition during VTEC. Any ideas?

Any ideas about my fuel problem when VTEC switches over? It goes super lean right at 5500rpm.
My setup is:
Drag III (99-00 Si kit)
TiAL WG
RC 440cc Injectors
Walbro high pressure in tank pump
Turbonetics MBC (needle valve)
B&M F/P controller (switched out to a new on on Sat. because I couldnt lower fuel press...with new one I still can't. FP sits at 45 at idle no matter what.
S200/b with P28 ECU
2.5" DP 3" Exhaust
Drag III manifold

Right now the tuner has it running super rich to compensate for the lean condition of VTEC. Now it idles terrible, but I do get a hp and tq increase @ 5500rpm...see sheet. I never had that kind (or any kind) of increase in power @ 5500rpm with the FMU....
As for the ECU the only thing I can think of is the ecu got grounded the wrong way...the CEL wasnt there until the 4th or 5th pass on the dyno, a whole day after the S200 was installed.

I dont get it! Any help or ideas are welcome.

Here is my Dyno sheet:

When tuning cars with Hondata, adjusting the A/F at the VTEC point will not affect the idling. (ADDENDUM: with the FMU, it would be hard to tune the maps. It will result in a very ugly curve.)

Did you ask the guys why it was like that?

Maybe its your FMU. With Hondata get a bigger injector so that you can tune it better.GETbigger injectors.

Thats what I had thought. Just to clarify I am not running an FMU. Also I forgot to add that I am using RC 440cc injectors (saturated). Any other ideas?

What basemap were used? What was done to compensate for the bigger injectors. With just using the injector calibration menu, the lower RPM will really be lean . READ HONDATA TECH REGARDING INJECTORS
