Original Tune Storage Question

Post by 99thompson »

Sorry if this question has been answered before, but couldn't find the exact answer in the help sections.

My FD2 came from Japan with a bad tune, horrific throttle delay due to bad VTC tuning.

I bought a FlashPro and loaded the stock tune from the online database, car now drives great again.

Question is, did the interface device or Flashpro store the original bad tune? I.e. when I unlock the FlashPro from the car, will it swap the original bad tune back into the ECU?

Or, will it load another fresh stock tune from the online database?

Thanks in advance.

If you have uploaded anew calibration it will have overwritten the calibration stored on the FlashPro. Unplugging will not change the ECU programming unless you upload a new calibration to the ECU.

Thanks for the reply.

So, to confirm, when I unlock the FlashPro from the ECU, it will use a fresh stock tune from the online database. Correct?

I was worried that the bad tune the car came with was stored on the Flashpro forever and would be written back to the ECU when unlocking.

Thanks.

Returning to stock from the online menu returns to factory state.
