Would they willingly put it on R&D if we provide one? Hondata hasn't even showed any interest in our cars :?03akkord5spd wrote:has anyone offered up a test car for them? that might be a reason also, the reason why alot of other reflashes get done so fast is because hondata gets their hands on a test car fairly quickly...eccen wrote: we need to gather ourselves at Hondata front yard with picket signs haha.

if hondata needs a test car, I'd be interested but my car is an automatic MAF. I work in long beach, nearby torrance.
mods are as stands, fujita cai, tsx intake manifold, hondata gasket, dc sports header.

List as the criteria for a reflash.Hondata wrote:It is unlikely that we are going to do anything for the R18. The decision whether we make a product is based on product demand and gains for stock and slightly modified vehciles, demand for forced induction tuning, and technical hurdles in making a reflash/programmable system.
Given that the R18 market will only be a faction of the 06 Si market, and the gains on a stock R18 engine are only a couple of hp, yet even a reflash would cost the same for us to develop of the 06 Si or 06 S2000, it does not make economic sense to do anything for the R18.
I recall based on k24a4 franks with kpros there are good gains, but of course hondata would know best.
technical hurdles must be coming down, since by their own admission the 05 tsx uses the same style ecu as accord. Some accords have MAF sensors, but so do k20z3 civic SIs and they almost have a product for that now.
any updates hondata would be great

evidence of "untapped potential"

RBB vs RAA
145 whp / 144 ft-lbs
tsx intake manifold, dc sports ceramic header, fujita intake, hondata heatshield gasket, throttle body coolant bypass
http://www.csupomona.edu/~jcwang3/dyno3.gif
136 whp / 131 ft-lbs
dc header, deleted intake resonator
http://www.csupomona.edu/~jcwang3/dyno2.gif
128 whp / 124 ft-lbs
deleted intake resonator only
http://www.csupomona.edu/~jcwang3/dyno1.gif
btw, i'm pretty sure the AFR on the most recent one is messed up, a buttpipe sniffer was used and it kept slipping out cause our stock exhausts point downward
