Learning about Hondata FlashPro tuning

Post by Hondasingapore »

Hi, Experts:
A newbie here...
How can I get about to learn about Hondata FlashPro tuning? I know I can download FlashPro Manager software free of charge and have it installed in a Windows operating system laptop/notebook. Then I can upload my own car's tuned file onto my laptop to play around with it without flashing it back to my ECU...

What is the recommended way? Should I read through all the FlashPro Manager's help topics as posted in Hondata portal first? I believe I can read through as I am a technology guy by profession.

My ulitmate and longer aim is to learn how to tune for my own car without breaking anything or causing damage, LOL? I always feel that a paid tuner will not always optimise your car 100% (It is not their faults); T

There is always room for improvements as an owner, we drive our car frequently enough to uncover somethings which can be further refined. Most tuners will do his/her job with a dyno with a super big fan to simulate airflow or micmic actual driving, but our car hoods are pop high up supported (In real life, driving, we DON'T)...There is just too many variables which may not be covered by a professional tuner. Some tuners will drive your car out upon requests to touch up or refine the so-called our AFRatio, Ignition Timing and Throttle Maps but again (We don't know most of the time if he/she really did anything as we are not a passenger mostly and even if we are, WE DON'T know what he/she is doing on his laptop_), that is just 1 pass or 1 drive which hinges upon that day's environmental conditions, hot/humid, wet and damn, baking sun, etc.

Is there anyone who is providing e-learning courses here? Or someone who is certified and good enough to even fine tune my car via e-tuning with Remote Desktop software and other connectivity & security issues properly sorted out assuming.

I am just exploring and spitting some of my thoughts wide into the open first. Sorry for the long winded post...

Thanks.

Evans Performance Academy has alot of training videos on Flashpro for all sorts of different setups. its 49.99 a month, or like 300 for the flashpro set and you get to keep them or 500 a year. They are really in depth. Im using the FK8 set to help me learn on tuning my DE5 with big turbo and fuel system.
