Hi Hondata.
I have a question regarding Knock control and count. I am on the stock hondata Tune (basemap) [CARB].
I only have KN Filter and Mishimoto intake tube. Soon will be adding a catabck exhaust, but I need to confirm that
my basemap tune and my car are healthy first.
I live in Texas, so in the summer, its about 80-96F degrees.
So I noticed I always have some Knock around 3200-3800 Rpm under like 35% pedal. When I am not heavy on the pedal,
Knock control is around 49%-54%. However, when I start accelerating with about more than 1/3 of the gas pedal pressed, I get
knocks around the 3500 rpm like I mentioned, and then Knock Control shoots up. I attached my datalog.
I did few 3rd gear pulls, and at high rpm, there is no knock.
My peak fuel duty cycle reaches 81-82% at 7500-8500 rpm.
Afr is around 11.7-12.2 at peak rpm.
So my question is, should I go ahead and add a catback exhaust (HKS ti sport, which is 65mm), or do I need to hold off and
Get a professional dyno tune based on these datalogs? In short, is the car healthy enough for another bolt on?
Btw, i usually get around 20 knocks during a 45 minute drive with normal city driving.
Attached datalog was taken on 81 f degrees night time.
Any insight is highly appreciated. Thank you.
