Possible PRB damage ?

Post by Noxx »

So I replaced my relays in my Elise chassis from standard to polarized relays (I didn't think it would make a difference). However, I noticed that my wiring was reversed for the coil side of the fuel pump relay. It means that the ECU possibly received unrestricted power from the coil wiring when the diode in the relay shorted. The car was working fine before that and now (even with the old relays), it doesn't want to start. In KManager, I get the Kpro Online status but 'Ignition Off' indicator even though it's on.

I suspect that the power damaged something on the PRB board when it tried to pull E1 and/or E7 to the ground. I tried finding info online but it's very minimal. When I look at the board, I don't see anything out of the ordinary. Is there a reference sheet for specific components somewhere (ex: R232) ? Is Hondata capable of repairing my PRB ECU ? They are expensive nowadays.

Thanks!

What is the serial number that is on the K-Pro board inside the ECU?

Where is that located ? Is that on the K-Pro4 foil sticker ? If so it's 47763. Or do you mean the sticker on the E connector ?

Are you checking the number to flash a new map or just to verify the serial?

I could only find that the transistor Q160 was dead. I could not find the other dead transistor.

I ended up buying another ECU...
