Sorry for asking such a dumb question. But I keep reading and watching videos saying that for Hondas, a good place to start is 16 degrees for igniting timing for Hondata?
However, when I look at the service manual for the 2008 TSX, the 2008 Civic Si, and 2006 RSX-Type S, the ignition timing for all 3 says:
8 degrees +- 2 degrees BTDC.
What does 8 degrees plus minus 2 degrees Before Top Dead Center mean as far as using 16 degrees?
Am I supposed to use 8 degrees instead or is 8 multiplied by two somehow?
Again, so sorry for a stupid question.
Thank you so much in advance!
Ignition Timing in degrees help?
Re: Ignition Timing in degrees help?
You are confusing older B, D. F and H series with K series engines. Older engines had adjustable distributors, where the newer ones do not and do not have a way to set base timing.

Thank you so much for that response. I'm an idiot. I just can't find a good tutorial on youtube for k20z3 engines. You are confusing older B, D. F and H series with K series engines. Older engines had adjustable distributors, where the newer ones do not and do not have a way to set base timing.
