Alright, i bought a NA 12:1 b20vtec 3 weeks ago, car worked perfectly for a few days, during normal driving, the car bogged and died, threw code 14, struggled to start back up then idled poorly like it was on a basemap or something.
Got home, reflashed the car using the original file from the tuner i got emailed to me, everything seemed fine until the next day driving along and the cel 14 came out of nowhere, had weird afr values, and poor idle.. again a reflash fixed the issue, short story weeks later, the problems worsened and now i cant even start the car, it will throw cel 14 almost immediately.
Contacted the shop that assembled the car, overtime Honda, very respected shop in British Colombia, aswell as some other friends and everyone pointed at the cmos battery in the v1 board
Now, i just bought a brandnew v3, installed it, got green lights on the ecu and checkmarks in smanager, registered the ecu, and the upload and datalogging options are greyed out?!
I cant upload my tune im told is compatible with the v3, heres some pictures of my smanager that include my serial number and such for the v3 board, also this is a p06 ecu modified i also get CEL 41 which i assume is because of my wideband?

Don't use the calibration storage to upload to the ECU. Make sure you have the calibration you want to upload open in the software, then click the upload arrow at the top of the screen. The ignition must be in the on position to do this.

I know in the picture when im Moused over online>upload showing its greyed out i didnt have the calibration file open,
but even when i do it remains greyed out as well datalogging, and im missing plenty other options in smanager while
Ignition is on, seems as if im not connecting properly, but when i have the v1 board on all these options are available and no longer greyed out, ive tested with two laptops, and had a tuner confirm by remote access the software side of things are installed right
Hes asked me to source a new ecu to test with, also my v3 is brandnew out of the box… (i am picking up two p06 converted and socketed ecu’s from a friend as soon as possible) but im told they likely need gone over so will likely be waiting on getting a refurbished board from oxytune before i can test a different ecu.
Have you ever heard of an ecu connecting with v1 board properly but not with a v3? Ive always had full access and connectivity to the v1 board but soon as i install the v3 half the options disappear and as mentioned, the real issue is no upload and datslogging, its just greyed out always, i am registered and all.
Thanks in advance Spunkster.

Re: V1 to v3 upgrade due to cmos battery failure
Actually, i should add even with the v1 board installed and able to upload/datalog, im missing some of the sensors, i know are reading and functioning but they dont display in Smanager… and ive never been able to download from the ecu to my laptop it always fails, however flashing from the laptop to the ecu(upload) worked just fine
i know ecu issues can cause all types of weird problems but given my description does this sound like a potential ecu issue?
Originally i figured cmos battery failure of the v1( i cant source a replacement) so i got this brand new v3… and now even more options and abilities of the s300 are not working.. for what its worth ive assembled over 10 custom built PC, i know its installed onto the pins correctly, didnt bend anything, didnt use unnecessary force.

Re: V1 to v3 upgrade due to cmos battery failure
Is J12 cut on the ECU?
Are you sure that it is seated on all the pins correctly?

Re: V1 to v3 upgrade due to cmos battery failure
Positive its seated, i have built some pc’s… i was very careful every time to ensure the pins were lined up and fully seated,
I personally didnt wire the car but ill double check j12 is cut
