Hi/low boost switch

Post by Kris_ep »

Hi there, just a question on the 12v feed for the switch.
I want to use the e22 brake switch for the high/low boost.
Can i take a 12v feed from anywhere? Or does it need to be specific one.
Can it be taken from the cigarette lighter 12v?

I would recommend a switched 12v source from the fuse box as there should be empty slots to connect to. You should not use the cigarette lighter.

Thank you for the reply. I will take the advice!
Just out of curiosity is there a reason to use a source from there?

It is the most reliable source of power.

Wired my switch in. Took the e22 switch input direct from the cable at the switch itself. Cut the white and black cable. Connected it to the switch on the dash.
The remaining cable at the switch is disconnected from anything.
Switch works fine in kpro, shows as on off etc.
Only issue is that my brake lights now don't come on with the pedal. Instead they come on when the boost switch is turned on lol.
Any idea what I have done wrong here? Thanks

Worked it out, it was wired in too far uo the brake switch line. I thought it was easier access at the switch than the Ecu.
Is now wired at the Ecu rather than the switch and works perfectly.
Thanks
