What solder and tip temp. to use when prepping P75 for s300?

Post by TurboLS »

what solder and tip temperature should I use when installing s300 into P75? The last thing I want to do is toast my ECU, but I don't really feel like paying $65 for 20 minutes of soldering.

around 425 C

Keep in mind that a number of people that attmept to socket their own ecu's end up damaging them. IF the ecu has previously been socketed, i highly recommend sending the ecu to Hondata to be prepared. If you do not have a proper desoldring gun then I also recommend sendign it to Hondata.

Mine is a virgin ECU. Actually, I was trying to find R54 on this P75 ECU. I can't find it to save my life. However, I'm not gonna do anything else until I locate it. thanks.

I just recently read that the P75 and the P72 don't have the R54 resistor. So you can stop looking, hehe. I looked for it on my P72 for about 20 minutes myself.
