Hi !
I'm from France and drive a 2017 EURO FK8 and the only mods I have on are a PRL catted exhaust and a HKS Legamax catback exhaust.
- Is it ok to run 93 octane US calibrations or should I use UK RON98 base reflash ?
- Since I have a PRL catted exhaust, should I use the calibrations saying high flow cat or the others just saying exhaust ? I saw that the high flow cat calibrations doesn't have the disable secondary o2 sensor checked so they should pop a CEL ?
- I'm using RON98 that can contain up to 5% ethanol in France. Do I have to check the mod Pump gas (10% Ethanol) or the Pump gas (0% Ethanol) ?
Thanks in advance for you help and cheers from France !
Calibrations and mods for a 2017 EURO FK8
Re: Calibrations and mods for a 2017 EURO FK8
I would start using the UK 98 RON calibration. Do not use either the 0% or 10% ethanol modifications - leave them alone. You might be able to use the US 93 octane calibrations but you would have to look more closely at the fuel trims.
You can use any calibration for a stock cat, high flow cat and is most cases exhaust. The tuning is not that different.

Thanks for your answer !
Ok I think i'll start using the UK 98 RON calibration, I read they also have up to 5% ethanol like our 98 RON in France. The Pump gas (0% Ethanol) is checked by default and cannot be unchecked (unless I check the Pump gas (10% Ethanol) mod) so I guess I'll have to stick with that option.
So for my PRL catted exhaust, as soon as I check the disable secondary o2 sensor it's enough ?
Last question : Should I enable the Disable EGT air charge reduction option ? Is it safe to use ? I'm not a tuner at all, just a regular user who wants a efficient and safe basemap while installing the remaining parts I need on my FK8 before getting it custom tuned by a pro.

Glenn

For the catted exhaust you probably want to disable the secondary o2.
Disable EGT air charge makes a big difference so should be used.

Re: Calibrations and mods for a 2017 EURO FK8
Sorry for spoiling Glennouz topic.
But I also am new to tuning and own an Euro spec (235kW) FK8 CTR.
I would like to get some pointers here
Engine performance wise, I got turbo blanket, I have installed full 3" exhaust and 3" exhaust w/ high flow 200CEL cat by 27WonPerformance
The exhaust comes with small angled pipe for 2nd O2 sensor (see attachment)
I run on pump fuel RON 98E0 (some pumps also give me RON 98E5 also)
Is there any good calibration to start with and/or what mods should I use in this form?
I guess the UK 98RON base reflash?
with that 'fuel - pump gas 0%ethanol' is already checked
In addition, pops and bang, worth it?
throttle with higher torque?
hondata traction control?
full throttle shift?

Re: Calibrations and mods for a 2017 EURO FK8
yes, start with the UK 98RON base calibration. Should be fine for RON 98E0 or RON 98E5 I have weighed in above on my opinions on the various mods. personally I don't use FTS because the throttle lag on the FK8 is almost nil and I never really have an issue with lag between shifts. I have set pops and bangs to be nearly imperceptible and even then I often kick down to Sport mode to disable it altogether. Next time I flash my car I will probably remove the pops and bangs mod.mkuu wrote: Wed May 28, 2025 2:10 pm Sorry for spoiling Glennouz topic.

Thanks for the info
To correct my previous post, down-pipe w/ high flow CAT cas opening of 3.75" turbo side into 3" front pipe side.
Does the ECU make any changes to fuel tables depending of short and/or long term fuel trim? or is it possible to do so myself via recorded values?
Or how is that trim being applied?
Is The trim is constantly live depending on O2 sensor or does it change any tables for future reference?

If the MAF readings are accurate the fuel should be correct. If you change the maf housing via an intake swap or any other reason then you will need to scale the AFM numbers so the airflow values are accurate
